My first Bol d'Or trip was in 1981 on my US-specification Triumph T140E Bonneville. |
| For this trip I went the scenic route down and then did the entire return journey (about 900 miles) in one hit. The only mechanical failure was of my own making: I had fitted some Dunstall silencers, one of which fell off on the Autoroute and had to be replaced with a Silentium (ho ho) Ducati silencer in Aix en Provence. |

| These were happy days indeed, and a number of my photos were published in EasyRiders and In the Wind magazines. I also had an article published in Back Street Heroes magazine reporting on the Custom Bike Show that was held annually in Bury St. Edmunds. |

The thought occurred to me the other day - having read an article in Motorcycle News - that I appear to have owned quite a few different bikes up until I met the present Mrs. Morris in 1987 and only started again when the ZRX1200R was delivered in April 2002, so here's the list:
